We're not here to follow trends—we're here to build something timeless.
Beside Still Waters is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that contributes to our community by helping medically fragile children and their families by providing direct patient and family support in the form of a respite home.
It is the first of it’s kind in the state of South Carolina - and joins less than 10 homes in the United States. Here we will provide respite and / or end of life care outside of the walls of a hospital or the family home - but in an environment filled with warmth, compassion and peace when children with life-limiting illnesses and their families are at their most vulnerable.
This gap leaves families without critical respite support, contributes to caregiver burnout, and increases reliance on high-cost hospital care at end of life. Establishing a pediatric hospice and respite home would address a significant unmet need, improve quality of life for children and families, and align South Carolina with national best practices in pediatric palliative care.
OUR MISSION
Beside Still Waters is committed to creating a future where all children in South Carolina with life-limiting conditions and their families have access to essential respite and end-of-life care.
